Eastern Gate and Around The Mountain – Dec. 16

Wow, it is so hard to believe another holiday has gone by. Thanksgiving is such a wonderful time visiting with family and eating lots of good food. I also got to wish my mother, Willene Adams, a very happy birthday and tell her how much I love her.
My brother, Bob, has a birthday just two days away from hers. No way to forget their birthdays, just remember Thanksgiving.
Our church had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner, lots of people and as always plenty to eat. We are blessed with good cooks. There are always so many things to be thankful for, and for our evening service we had a testimony service. Sometimes all it takes is a simple thank you God to move the next person.
I read a sign the other day and normally I love to read signs, but this sign I did not agree with. It read if you only say one prayer in your life say the prayer, Thank You Lord. I think if you are going to say only one prayer make it “Forgive me Lord for I am a sinner” Let me tell you if you say this prayer you will want to continue to talk with God for the rest of you life for He is our wonderful father.
I guess I better move onto Christmas. It will be here before you know it.
Tammy and Tina are working with the kids on their Christmas program, which will be the 18th. Wanda Hutchinson and Tracy Nelson are helping my little kids with their play. I always love the Christmas season. My favorite part is sharing the true spirit of love that we should all feel for each other, especially at this joyful time of year. My second favorite thing is to sing Christmas carols and that I have not been able to do. I think God’s Christmas present to Roger was to make me hoarse for the last few weeks, so not much talking and no singing. All the men at church act like they are a little jealous of Roger and wish their wives weren’t able to talk for a while. I do notice they don’t say that in front of their wives.
I got a phone call telling me my sister-in-law, Elaine, had passed away. It’s a sad time for families and friends especially during the holidays to lose a loved one, but imagine how happy they are when they enter heaven’s gates and see Jesus. Someday we’ll have a wonderful Adams Reunion in heaven and sing praises to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Until then, spend some extra time spreading love and the true reason we celebrate Christmas, the birth of Jesus. What a precious Christmas present God gave to us on this day.
