LEGAL NOTICE
The Dora R-III School District is seeking all interested persons to file for three vacant seats for the Dora R-III School District Board of Education election to be held on April 5, 2011.
Three – three year school board po-sitions for the April 5th, 2011 Election
Interested persons may file at the Dora R-III School District administra-tive office with Ronda Clinton, Board Secretary, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. beginning on Tues-day, December 14, 2010. The closing filing date is Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. Filings will not occur when the district office is closed for holidays, inclement weather and/or when school is not in session.
District offices will be closed for holiday from December 21, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. until January 3, 2011 at 8:00 a.m.
Qualifications for persons interested include the following: citizen of the United States of America, resident taxpayer of the Dora R-III School Dis-trict have resided in Missouri for a minimum of one year preceding elec-tion at least 24 years of age eligible to hold an office in accordance with Mis-souri law, including Missouri statute 561.021.
Missouri state law requires all elected board members to attend 16 hours of training to help newly elected board members in the area of govern-ance. The Dora R-III School Board members meet monthly to conduct the business of the school district. Each board member continues to support the school district in all areas of education. They are dedicated to the continued improvement of our school and com-munity and work to deliver the highest quality education for our young people.
