Susan Sinclair reports that the three-week multi church revival closed Sunday night at Goodhope General Baptist with an evening of musicians and singers praising the Lord for the victory He has given us over death and hell.
Victory over death because with Christ as our Savior we will never experience death, though we will someday leave this body we use here on earth, and victory over hell because with Christ as our Savior we will never have to experience hell, which the Bible says was created for the devil and his angels.
Christ came to free everyone from death and hell. He gave Himself as a free gift and paid the price for each person. Our gift of salvation is there to receive, if we will choose Christ as Lord of our lives. It is an adventure more fun and fulfilling than any sin could possibly be, and it does not have the harmful side effects of sin, in fact the side effects of living a life with Christ is adventurous! Don’t miss the adventure that will last for eternity. (And I am not talking about sitting on a cloud playing a harp, either)
I am thankful for that.
Until next time, God bless you and your loved ones, and Happy Thanksgiving.
Carol Boeddeker-Genet was happy to see son, Randy, stop in and he had a cooler of elk meat. Rachelle Boeddeker received leave from the Navy and is home for a visit. Regina and Rex Boeddeker have been busy working with the cattle. They ended up having to take that retriever/lab dog to the humane society in Springfield. Many efforts were put out to locate the owners but after five weeks with no response, the dog attacking cats and other dogs and chasing cattle, it was time for him to leave. The humane society said they have over 200 dogs there (on Norton Road) looking to be adopted.
The Thanksgiving dinner at St. Leo’s was a “whomping” success. So many delicious side dishes and desserts were brought in by the ladies and enjoyed by all. The three 20 pound turkeys turned out to be just the right amount. Monday I made turkey soup from what was on the bones, adding potatoes, carrots, green beans, celery, onion, rice, and some pasta. A wholesome meal in one pot!
Until next time, be well and remember to pray for all needing our prayers. Do remember to give thanks to God for what you have and where you live, and for your right to religious freedom.
