December 1 – Caney met Wednesday evening with singing. Bro. Hi Lambeth took charge of the service. Prayer requests were taken and Bro. Jeff Shipley led in prayer. Bro. Hi read Eccl. 1, only wisdom in the Lord is worth anything. Everything else is vanity or worthless. We always have an interesting Bible discussion each Wednesday. Come be with us.
Sunday school opened with singing. Bro. Jack Essary welcomed everyone. Prayer requests and praise reports were given. Bro. Sam Clemans led in prayer. Jack read Ephesians 2:11-22 for our devotion. We had a wonderful Sunday school lesson. Testimony was given by Lorrinda Coulter.
Praise and Worship began with singing. Melissa Harmon, Charlotte Roberts, Melba Austin, Jim Lafferty, Sam Clemans, Laurena Mitchell and Tommy Roberts all sang specials.
Bro. Bill Austin, our pastor, spoke this morning from Ezekiel 22:30, main verse, Ezekiel 22:24-30 and Micah 3:11. Are you carrying a torch for the world to see? Are you lighting the way for others? For your family? If you don’t, who will? Our leaders are failing us. We need to trust the Lord and carry our candle. Be God-fearing leaders.
Sunday night services began with good congregational singing. Bro. Jeff took prayer requests. We have lots to pray for. Bro. Jack prayed over these requests. Testimony was given by Bro. Jim Lafferty. Sister Charlotte and Bro. Hi sang. Tonight was our communion service. Bro. Bill read from I Corinthians 11 and Luke 27. We then drank the grape juice and ate unleavened bread. This was truly a blessed service. We were then dismissed by Sister Doris. We were so glad for all that came to be with us this Sunday.
