Caney Church News

November 10 – Caney came together Wednesday evening with singing. Pastor Bill Austin took charge of our Wednesday Bible study. Prayer requests were taken. Bro. Hi Lambeth led in prayer. Bro. Bill read Romans 12:1-21. The church is like a body when our little finger hurts so does the entire body. When someone is absent from church service the entire church faces the empty spot. Love and be concerned for others that you can show others Christ.
We are blessed to be a God fearing, Bible believing church.
Sunday school opened with singing. Bro. Jack Essary welcomed everyone and prayer requests were received. Bro. Hi Lambeth led in prayer. Jack read I Timothy 1:12-17 for our devotion.
After Sunday school our little ones sang led by Sister Tracy Shipley. Testimonies were given by Jeff Shipley, Charlotte Roberts, Vanessa Mills, Elsie Combs and Melba Austin.
Praise and Worship began with singing. Jim Lafferty, Lorraine Mitchell and Melissa Harmon all sang specials.
We had a very spiritual service this morning. Pastor talked about how we are failing God. How we need to wake up and start serving God better. He is coming soon. Jesus gave His life for all, are you ready?
Sunday evening service began with singing. Bro. Jeff Shipley welcomed everyone. Sis. Lila Roberts led in payer. Charlotte Roberts and Bill Austin gave testimonies.
Bro. Dean Dunn brought us the good news of what the Gideons are doing for the Lord, supplying Bibles around the world. They hand out little New Testaments in schools and in foreign countries. It’s a shame that we are considered a Christian nation, but the Gideons are not welcome at our schools.
Wednesday, November 17 – Caney came together Wednesday evening singing. Bro. Jeff Shipley was our leader this week. Sis. Lorrinda Coulter led us in prayer. Jeff read Jeremiah 7:1-21. His thought was on how people go to church and live like the devil and think that they’re going to make it to Heaven. The Bible is the Holy Word of God. We have to do what it says to go to Heaven.
You are welcome to come be with us. We’ll learn God’s word together.
November 21 – Sunday school opened with singing.  Bro. Jack welcomed everyone. Prayer requests were given. Sis. Lorrinda Coulter led in prayer. Jack read Isaiah 52:7-12 for devotion.
After a good Sunday school lesson, happy birthday was sung to Denzil Roberts, Bill Austin and Gracie Shipley. God bless them.
Bro. Jeff Shipley led the little ones in several songs. We are so glad for those that step up and fill in for those that can’t be with us. Jim Lafferty, Jeff Shipley and Charlotte Roberts gave testimonies.
Praise and Worship began with singing. Jim Lafferty, Melissa Harmon and Lorrinda Mitchell sang specials. Pastor Bill Austin spoke this morning from Romans 12:2, Numbers 22:1-43. How many times have we been out of God’s will, been shown and told but would not change until too later or almost too late. We are blessed. When we follow the Lord we need to stay in the word to know the will of God.
Sunday evening began with singing. Bro. Jeff Shipley took charge of the service by taking prayer requests. Bro. Jim Lafferty led in prayer. Jim Lafferty, Jeff Shipley, Doris Lambeth, Janice Lafferty, Melba Austin and Charlotte Roberts all gave testimonies. Charlotte Roberts read a poem called “It’s In The Valley I Grow.” Bro. Bill spoke Sunday evening from Heb. 3:18-18. There is so much we should be thankful for. The Lord has given us strength for each day. He has blessed us all along in our lives. To know Heaven will be our home if we believe in Christ, is the greatest blessing.
Count your blessings everyday.
Come be with us, you will be welcome.
