It has been a very cold, windy weekend. Deer gun season is over and our maintenance director did not get his deer. He says he will go hunting for archery season. The high winds certainly knocked the leaves off the trees, all the better to see the deer. We wish our maintenance director more luck during archery season.
Our Thanksgiving dinner went very well and we enjoyed the resident’s families. We had lots of great food and a wonderful meal. We will be doing a Christmas tea this month for our residents. We plan to read the Christmas story during the tea.
We have been busy decorating the building and it looks like a beautiful Christmas. We have a tree in the lobby and another one in the dining room. Anything with a flat surface seems to be decorated. It is beautiful.
Our residents are looking forward to the Christmas carolers. The Ava Opry will be here and refreshments will be served. Residents learned how to play Bunco this week and are enjoying the new game.
We hope to make scented Christmas ornaments made by the residents to add to the tree this month.
Christmas pictures of residents have been taken for their enjoyment.
The legacy books will be started this month. Questions will be asked about family history and interesting things residents did during their youth. The questions are about things family members would like to know.
We wish everyone a wonderful month of joy. May the blessing of the season be yours.
