Twila Sue “Susie” (nee Moritz) Lawson, 77, beloved wife of the late Dale Lawson, devoted mother of Catherine (George) Beck and Stephen (Stephenie) Lawson, dear sister of Francis (LaVelle), John (Wanda) and Phillip (Linda) Moritz, loving grandmother of Christina Beck, Cara Lawson and Matthew Beck, aunt of Deneen Girgin, Missy Moritz, Britia Bradshaw, Kim Moritz, Sherry Wiles, Jeffrey and Wesley Moritz, passed away Oct. 14, 2010 in Chillicothe, Ohio.
Susie was born in 1933 in Buckhart, Mo., to the late George and Mary Moritz, where she was raised on a small farm in Douglas County with her brothers Francis, John and Phillip. She was a 1951 graduate of Ava High School.
Susie was a 1954 RN graduate of St. John’s Hospital School of Nursing in Springfield, Mo. For many years, she was a supervising nurse at St. Joe’s Infant & Maternity Home in Cincinnati, Ohio, until retiring to a farm in Highland County with Dale, where they were active members of St Elizabeth’s Church. In 2002, she moved to Chillicothe to live with her daughter Cathy, and she also became a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church.
Visitation was held at Mueller Parker Funeral Home, Mason, Ohio, on Monday, Oct. 18, from 5-8 p.m. Mass of Christian burial was at St. Susanna Church, Mason, Ohio, on Tuesday at 10 a.m.

Suzie and I were classmates at Ava. Dale Lawson was my maternal third cousin. His mother, Esther my mother;s first cousin. Suzie was a bubbling personality and a good student. Blessings to her family.
