Heath-Thomas Reunion

The 16th Annual Heath – Thomas Reunion was held Sat., Oct. 9, 2010 at The American Legion Hall in Ava, MO.  with doors opening at 11:00 a.m.
A wonderful basket dinner was enjoyed by all at noon with Ralph Dobbs asking the blessing over the meal.
There was a time of picture taking after the meal.
Edith Reed and Doris Burrow told us our cousin, Cecil Key, had been invited to go with the Freedom Honor Flight on a trip to Washington, D.C.  His daughter, Daphanie Sholl, accompanied him on the trip.  They spent about 20 hours in D.C. While there they attended Arlington Cemetery, Tomb of Unknown Soldier, Lincoln Memorial, and attended a Banquet in their honor.  They were given T- Shirts and hats.
The trip was paid for by Volunteers for all Veterans.

Ralph said he can still wear his original military uniform.
Frieda Thurman won the door prize, which was a 25.00 gift certificate from Wal-Mart.
Those traveling the longest distant were Jeanie Dobbs of California and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Hutchison of Washington.
The family was honored to have their  Aunt Pearl Cook ( 93 years of age) in attendance, all the way from Clarksville, TN.
The following families were in attendance:  Dale and Betty Thomas, Frieda Thurman, Darren and Missy Hutchison and family, Ben and Janelle Hutchison, Rita Flemming, Donald Dobbs, Juanita Doughtery, Euneeda Lynn all from Ava, MO., Gary Hutchison, Phyllis Long, Rick Croney, Willie Brown Jr., all from Mountain Grove, MO., Nelson and Ima Sellers of Forsyth, MO. and Deloris England of Warrensburg MO., Josh Edgar and children from Belton, MO., Reba Walker of Kansas City, MO., Ralph Dobbs, Marilyn Dobbs Schappert, Sherry Dobbs of Columia, MO.
Those attending from out of state were Jeanie Dobbs of Daly City, California, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Hutchison of Dayton, Washington, Doris Burrow of Dewey, Oklahoma, Tonya Shelley of Mulvane, Kansas, Edith Reed of Belle Plane, Kansas, Grace Edgar of Princeton, Kansas, Gay Lane of Clarksville, Tennessee, and our special guest, Aunt Pearl Cook of Clarksville, Tennessee.
