Gentryville

On this Monday morning, November 15, I’ll try and write a little news for the paper. It is still dry, but guess when the rain comes we’ll appreciate it more or maybe it’ll be snow!
Angela and Travis Nesbit of Springfield are parents of a baby boy, Carson Dean. Aubrey is the big sister. Ted and Karen Collins are maternal grandparents and Ann Collins is the great-grandmother.
Saturday Agnes Williams and Ann Collins ate lunch with me, Ann brought brown beans and I made cornbread and it tasted pretty good.
Agnes, Ann and I stopped at Drury after church and ate lunch on Sunday then Ada Beard visited Sunday evening with Ann.
I rode on the Oats bus last Monday and had my protime test at St. John’s Clinic in Ava. I get to wait three weeks this time.
Our family has had several birthdays this past week, Linda (Collins) Owens, Paul Smith, Rhonda (Hurst) Goss, my oldest grandson, Aaron Chambers today on the 15th, Janet Smith on the 17th.
Cole Bradshaw was one of the top 20 sellers for a fundraiser in the Mtn. Grove Elementary School and he got to go to Branson last Thursday to see the Dixie Stampede. He is in kindergarten. All 20 top sellers got to go and his grandmother, Karen Frederick, Rita Bradshaw and his sister, Isabell, also got to go.
Get well wishes to all the sick and good luck to the deer and the hunters. It is just a little over a week until Thanksgiving, but we could and should give a moment of “thanks” each and every day. God bless and take care.
