Opening prayer for our Sunday service was led by Rod Welker.
Our Sunday school lesson was focused on showing and reminding us that our lives are truly very short, we are encouraged to make the most of our days because they are few, we must rely on God’s wisdom and protection to make right choices for our eternity.
A happy birthday song went to Matt Welker and our special song was by Joanne and Matt Welker.
Many prayer requests were given and Gentry Church extends their sympathy to the Joe Breshears family. Joe fought a long hard battle with cancer and gave the most touching testimonies of his faith in God and God’s mercy and goodness to him.
Pastor Riley Hall brought his message from Hebrews 6:19, “Six Steps To Successful Christian Living.” First step: open public confession to Christ after accepting Him as your Lord and Savior, second step – Faith and Believing in Jesus, third step – study the word of God, step four – Living daily prayer, family devotions are very important, step five – witness daily and step six – faithful tithes and offerings.
Do not forsake the Sabbath Day and the assembling with each other. Be a soul winning church. God owns all we have, we are just using it for a short while, we are to be workmen for God Almighty.
Next Friday night, Nov. 19 is our Third Friday Night Singing with Dogwood Nazarene Church joining us at 7 p.m. Everyone is invited.
Next Sunday morning the 21st, will be a meeting for election of teachers and officers, so please attend.
Sunday night after congregational singing, our specials songs were done by the Wednesday night singers, Charlotte Reich and a group consisting of Narvil Tetrick, Faye Allen, Wendell Deo, Janice Young, Brenda Hampel, with Harley Allen playing guitar for them.
Bro. Riley’s message was from Matthew 5:29and 30. A testimony abut his life before his ministry was given which truly blessed us all because we can all relate to different situations. In life our hearts are blinded by so many things. God is so patient with us and has a plan for all of our lives. God bless
