Black Oak Church News

“Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth,” Psalm 124:8.
Brother Roy Frye read I Timothy 1:12-17 for our devotion after Sister Shirley Riley and Sister Betty Satterfield led the congregational singing. It was good to have Brother Roy back with us as he was sick with a cold the week before.
Please pray for Helen Workman, Eva Woods, Betty and family, Glen and Louise, Gene and Rheba Pool, Joe and Clara Lafferty, Rick Bailey and family, Danny Bushong, our church, country, leaders, military and the hunters.
We are thankful for our visitors and missed Wanda and the Adams boys and Annie and family.
We enjoyed the special by Sister Dana, Jacki and Macee.
Pastor David also sang a special.
Brother Kerry took up the offering and Quin and Macee Breeding did the penny march for Camp Piland.
Pastor David preached from Hebrews 9:27 and Revelation 20:12. Everyone is appointed unto death and then judgment. The books will be opened. The Bible was established by God for us to live by. It will stand forever and we will be judged by it. Another book is the record of all our deeds and works, then the Book of Life, which contains the names of all Christians who are promised eternal life in heaven. All others not found will be cast into the lake of fire for all eternity, You know if you are saved or not.
The Sunday evening service began with singing. We had a good choir with some little helpers. Karry, Dana and Betty sang a special for us. Pastor David sang then preached from Psalm 123. Sometimes we forget God during the good times. We should look to Him for all things. He is still in control and He won’t let us down. We must not give up and wait upon Him. We are so blessed by God.
Remember Bible study on Wednesday evening at 6:00.
Our Christmas program will be December 12 at 2:00 in the afternoon. We will have our Thanksgiving/Christmas dinner before the program after the morning worship service.
Everyone is welcome at Black Oak and may God bless you always.
