It has been another beautiful fall week. The leaves are floating to the ground on the cool breezes of November. The fog rolls in at evening tide by the creek and is gone by noon the next day.
November has been warm and inviting for fall weather and deer season is here. In the country one hears the sound of deer rifles being sighted in for hunting and talk of trophy size deer is exciting. The weather needs a little cool snap to get the deer moving. The leaves on the ground are so dry that stalking will be a challenge, however, if it comes a heavy rainstorm the deer will bed down. Deer hide very well when bedding down. Our maintenance director mentioned he is hunting with his family this year and has been out scouting for the best hunting spot. We hope he gets a trophy size buck with his grandson.
We have been busy here. The Halloween trick or treaters were great fun and residents enjoyed seeing them. Candy was packaged and handed out for them to enjoy. We are planning a family Thanksgiving lunch for this month. Of course Thanksgiving Day will also be a big dinner with all trimmings. We have enjoyed all our volunteers. Music was great, the dog show was wonderful and residents really enjoy the games like Bingo, Yahtzee, Farkle and basketball.
It won’t be long before we start decorating for Christmas and planning our Christmas activities.
We would like to welcome Waneta Blackman to our home. She says she really enjoys living here and we certainly enjoy her.
