Smallett and Walnut Grove News

Sunday morning service was opened with the little ones singing a praise song. They do a very fine job and the teachers do an awesome job with them. We had prayer and then praise and welcome time.
Tillie Fowler and Venita Brummet did a beautiful job singing a special.
Brother Roberts brought the message from James 5:13-20, “Let Us Pray.”
Special prayer was said for Hazel Jackson and Beth Stafford, both are in the hospital.
On Wednesday evening we enjoyed having 201 children at Walnut Grove Church for the annual hayride.
On Friday, our son-in-law, Keith Bannister, came down and helped Delmar do some work, then Donna came down after she got off work. Jack and Barb Breshears came and brought lunch and ate with us.
On Friday evening, Kathleen Deatherage and Chris came down to our house and brought supper and visited. On Saturday, I rode to Sparta with them and helped with the food booth for Persimmon Days there. Kay Carmichael came over to see us during the day.
Delmar came to Sparta and I rode to Springfield to visit my sister and brother-in-law.
I talked to Uncle Hugh and Aunt Violet Morris and they seem to be doing pretty good. On Friday, Nora Hunsaker and Lee Williams went to Windsor to visit with them.
On Monday, George and Violet Blakey came over and spent the afternoon, George helping Delmar and Violet and I just visiting and talking about sewing and quilts.
We are sorry to hear that Joe Breshears is not doing well.
Remember that The God on the mountain is still God in the valley.
