The frost hit the last of the tomatoes, zucchini, and green bean plants and brought an end to the summer garden at Norma Stillings’s home in the Rainbow Ridge neighborhood. The only things that are left are some lettuce and onions. Norma had time to dig up some ferns Wednesday and bring them inside.
When Norma called the neighbors, Monday morning, but they did not have any news that they wanted to have put into the paper. Most of the neighbors here just go on about their daily lives without much fanfare. Some have sons or daughters that come in almost everyday. Some talk by phone, some e-mail, and some go on “Facebook” to connect with their folks from across the nation. Some go to church every Sunday and shopping every week and are thankful to be able to do so. They don’t consider that “news,” but it is what makes up our daily lives.
