10-25-10. Good morning, what a beautiful fall day we have here. It won’t last long, but we’re thankful for it while it’s here.
Friday night and Saturday we got five inches of rain. We needed it this time though. It had been a little while since we got any and it’s amazing how fast the fields, gravel roads, ect. dry out especially when it’s sunny and windy. One day when it was really windy the air was full of those shucks and leaves that came off the corn fields. I think the farmer got most of their crops picked before it rained again. I know they have been busy in their fields everywhere you look. One pretty sight to see in the field right in front of me after the farmer who rents it had picked all the corn, the landlord put up one of those bright orange snow fences. I sure hope it works because he said his son wouldn’t be here this winter to plow the snow. He didn’t put the fence the whole length of the road though, so I don’t know if he’s going to finish it or not. I hope so because there is a spot up there at the end of the road that drifts bad. Well, I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
Today is nice, but Tuesday and Wednesday are supposed to be really windy with a wind advisory out, up to 50 mph winds. This is all out in the open and nothing to block it, so we got the blunt force of it. I hear that La Nina will be here this year and that means bad weather.
We haven’t seen the little ground squirrel for a while now, so I guess, they’ve holed up for the winter. Now a little chipmunk is out here all the time. He’s using one of the holes the little squirrels had. He gets food and then runs to that hole with it, then back for more. I never was sure if there was a difference between the two, but there is. The little chipmunk keeps his tail up in the air most of the time and flicks it back and forth and he moves around real fast. He was up on the top feeder yesterday and I’ve never seen one of the others up there. I haven’t seen the big turkey anymore that stood out here by the tree for so long. There’s not very many of those beatle bugs, box elder bugs and the little tiny black ones that bite so hard. I sure did catch a lot of them in those fly strips I hung up. I don’t think there was room for one more bug on any of them.
I was enjoying my new printer so much then all of the sudden it started printing everything between a blue and purple even the black and white pictures. I tried everything I could think of, but nothing changed. I took it back to Wal-Mart and they gave me another one just like it. I was so thrilled that they gave me another one like it since I had already learned all about it and knew how to run it.
I’ve had a sinus infection for almost two weeks now, so I haven’t felt like doing anything with it. I took my last antibiotic yesterday and I am feeling better so I want to set it up today.
Get well wishes to Chloe Wolford, Harley Cox, Jeff Heatherly and Betty. We are thinking about you.
As usual, I need to quit this and get it in the mail. So bye, bye for now.
