EARLY PUBLIC NOTICE
To: All Interested Agencies, Groups and Individuals
Date of Publication: October 28, 2010
Shannon County, Missouri, acting as the lead county and in cooperation with Howell, Texas, Oregon, Ozark, Douglas and Wright counties, is pro-posing to partner with South Central Ozark Council of Governments and South Central Ozark Community Im-provement Corporation to undertake a Water Well Initiative. The project will involve providing low-interest loans to single-family residence for purposes of constructing new wells and water lines or repairing existing wells. The County is interested in discussing alternatives to this project and securing public per-ceptions of possible adverse impacts that could result from the project and possible mitigation measures. It is cur-rently unknown as to whether or not any wells will be construed or repaired within a 100-year floodplain or mapped wetland area but the potential exists. As a result, this notice is required by Sec-tion 2 (a)(4) of Executive Order 11988 for floodplain management and Section (b) of Executive Order 11990 for pro-tection of wetlands, and is implemented by HUD Regulations found at 14 CFR 55.
