Rod Welker led the opening prayer for our church service Sunday morning. Our special song was done by Rod Welker with Joanne at the piano.
Our morning message was brought by Pastor Riley Hall from Psalms 147:1-11. His text focused on verses 2 and 3.
We are in a battle against Satan and we as Christians should go out and look for the wounded and tell them about Jesus. The Lord can heal the broken-hearted and bind up their wounds. We all need a touch from the master. We have a job to do because we aren’t home yet.
Several from Gentry attended the third Friday night singing at Dogwood Nazarene and heard some good singing.
We had another cleaning day at the church last Saturday. The ladies who came to help were Sharon Ginder, Brenda Hampel, Judy Hall, Joann and Stacey Welker, Charlotte Reich, Wanda Casady and Donna Young.
This coming Saturday night, Oct. 22, will be a hayride and hot dog roast at 6 p.m. Bring covered dishes to add to the meal.
The fourth Sunday singing will be held at 2 p.m. on Oct. 24 at Oak Grove Church.
Our evening service opened with congregational singing. A special song was done by Narvil Tetrick, Faye Allen, Joey Welker and Wanda Casady.
Brother Hall’s evening sermon was taken from Daniel chapter 6:12-23. We need to be more like a Daniel and draw near to God. He had faith, trust and believed in God. Daniel got his understanding from God’s work and what he had done. We need to know God’s Bible. He is our strength and refuge in times of burdens and troubles. God loved Daniel and He loves you.
God Bless.
