Faith Rock Church

It was another beautiful fall day in the Ozarks. It’s either one of the most beautiful falls I can remember or as you get older you are more appreciative of all that’s around us.
We are quilting today as we do most Tuesdays and have given away several quilts lately. I don’t think I gave my appreciation to everyone who attended our garage sale at church last month, but we had a great turnout of people and we sold a lot and gave some away and still have lots to have another one and hope to have another before winter.
We want to wish Sis. Wanda Ray a happy birthday also Sheryl Chance, her new granddaughter, which was born on the 15th, which was Sheryl’s birthday also. Barbara Chance is the new babies great grandmother and Sis. Dessie Miller is the great-great grandmother. They are some proud grandmothers. I also want to wish my daughter, Teresa Gloyd of Branson a happy birthday this week. She came up Sunday for church and Sherry’s family brought fresh fried fish and dessert and we had a very good birthday dinner here for her.
I appreciate Kathleen Sparks for giving me quilting material and Judy Norman Mitchell for material and someone else who just set it out last Tuesday.
Five of our quilters drove to Blue Eye to be on the Jim and Lori Baker television program. We sure enjoyed the day and everyone there was very friendly. I don’t know when the program will air on their show, but they were very kind to all of us.
I was talking by phone to my cousin, Judy Mitchell, yesterday and she said her mother, Elizabeth Guthery was to have surgery this Friday. I’m sure she would appreciate having prayer for her mother Friday. It sounded like a serious surgery.
Bro. Bob and Sis. Shirley Fleetwood enjoyed having daughter and son-in-law down for a few days and especially the sweet little red headed granddaughter and going to their grandson’s wedding.
Bro. Darrel and Sis. Betty Hesterlee had company a couple of weeks ago. Betty’s sister, Ruby, and Ray Gard from Independence, MO. visited a few days. They soon will be going Oct. 30 to Texas for the winter. Friday, Oct. 15 Betty fixed birthday dinner for Patty’s birthday. She wanted chicken and noodles, yeast rolls and chocolate cake with white fluffy frosting and anything else would be fine. Grandson, Josh, from Kansas City was down for his mom’s birthday also his girlfriend, Lora Williams also from Kansas City. She had been to England for a year in school. They were very glad to see Lora again. Its always good to see Josh and Lora, but sad when they leave. We had a wonderful day with Audrey, Dessie, Carelene and Ernesteen. Betty is pastor of Faith Rock Church and invites everyone to church. Darrel and Betty were in Branson Thursday and saw the show Noah. It was a good show with a lot of good things for people to take to heart. God shut the door when the rain started and people wanted in, but it was too late. Jesus is coming again, don’t wait too long to get saved, it will be too late. Jesus is coming soon.
