Eastern Gate and Around the Mountain

I do believe I feel a chill in the air. I wore my jacket to church, which of course surprised no one, but someone was thinking of me and had the heat on. I appreciate it, Cindy,  and many others appreciated it too. The church house felt wonderful. We had a good crowd out for services. Esther played for the youth, Gracie Williams sang and Jon and his daughter, Grace, sang a special. My Sunday school class had a lesson about Moses and Donald’s sermon was also about Moses. He was talking about Moses standing before the burning bush and having to remove His shoes because he was standing on Holy Ground. God wants us to be on fire for God as a church and as Christians. We are not to burn out and just get comfortable with things the way they are, but to stay on fire and keep striving more every day to be more Christ like for that is truly the definition of a Christian.
Sunday night Bud was back with his guitar and Jon, Bud and I sang and then his grandkids helped us sing. Donald preached about being sold out to God, nothing should be more important in your life than God.
Our class reunion was this week. Roger and I went and had a good visit with several classmates. It’s always good to see and visit with people you haven’t seen in awhile. I’m not going to tell you how many years then you would know how old I am, now wouldn’t you? I have to tell you several people did not recognize Roger. I think it was all the gray hair or lack there of.
Our church plans for this weekend are as follows: we want everyone to trick-or-treat on Saturday night and come to church Sunday. Bring a sandwich, we are going to leave out on a hayride at 2:00. When we get back we will eat hot dogs and chili and play games with candy and then gather back in for fellowship service. I expect to see a house full for this wonderful time of serving God in fun and celebration of fall. Until next week, have a safe and happy Halloween and may the Holy Spirit fill your heart with all the love and sweetness that you crave, (just like a chocolate bar.) It’s so good!
