A Design Celebration is planned for this Friday, November 5 for the Community Playground Project: Ava.
A playground designer is coming from Ithaca, New York to spend the day drawing and designing with the Ava Elementary students. Students from surrounding schools have also been invited to participate.
The theme of the playground will be “The Seven Continents.”
Later that night, between 5 and 8 p.m., a community celebration will be held at the property where the new playground will potentially be built.
The designer is going to give a short presentation and then reveal the design of Ava’s new playground.
Through a “grassroots” effort, the citizens of Ava are joining hands to provide a state-of-the-art playground not only for the children of Ava, but for children throughout the area.
The project’s committee is working with Leathers & Associates, a design firm that specializes in custom-design community built projects.
