Breedon Church News

Last Week
Good afternoon to everyone.  I hope this finds everyone in good health and good spirits. I’m guessing everybody enjoyed the Breedon School Reunion this Saturday.
There has been a young lady who has had a few rough days in the hospital let’s not forget her and her family in our prayers and pray for a speedy recovery and good health.
Our Sunday morning services were started with Roy reading the 6th Chapter of Proverbs.  Lee led our Sunday school lesson from Matthew Chapter 19.  Cub’s morning sermon was from 1st Peter Chapter 1, Heaven is worth suffering for and it most certainly is.  You know Jesus suffered a lot for us through his life here on earth; just so that through him we could have life everlasting of joy and happiness.  He had people to spit on him, whip him, mock him and destroy him do that we could go to heaven.  So you know if people call you names, say things that are hurtful to you, just remember all these things that you go through here on earth is nothing compared to the great reward you will receive in heaven for being a true and faithful follower of our Lord and Savior.
I just want to leave you with a little food for thought.  What if on the final day of judgment the Lord looks at you and calls you by name and says so and so all of your family gets to go on into heaven except you I have knocked and knocked on the door of your heart and you never let me in so now I can’t let you into heaven with your family.  Guess what you have missed it all and will be sent to a fiery doom forever, that my friend would be awful.  So if you have asked Jesus to come into your heart you will inherit a great reward.  If not, the next time Jesus is knocking at the door of your heart you should answer and let him in so that you can inherit a great reward and find a peace you have never known.
Remember Jesus loves you and until next time God bless and stay safe.
This Week’s News – Roy Hampton had to work so Joe Lafferty opened Sunday school with the twelfth chapter of Psalms. Wilma Hampton led in prayer. Lee Hampton taught the lesson in Matthew 20. We discussed the lesson. It is a very good way to learn. Questions and answers were discussed and we had seven more for next Sunday.
We had few in attendance. Some people were sick and others had to work. Lee Hampton took up the offering.
We had congregational singing. Joe preached in Romans 14. Joe prayed before preaching. We sang a few songs and Lee Hampton dismissed in prayer.
The evening service started at six with congregational singing. Sue Sisco sang. We always seem to have a good spirit. God is so good. Lots of people in our congregation have colds and viruses that they can’t shake. Wilma is going back to the doctor today to try and get rid of it. We had testimonies and praised the Lord. Joe preached on the third chapter of Malachi on tithes and offerings. God loves a cheerful giver. He wants to bless us if we stay close to him. We really have to stay on our knees in these times. Roy Hampton dismissed us in prayer. Until next week, God bless.
