I hope you are not one of those wishful thinkers who believe just because you are a good person or you do good works that Heaven will be your home. In Matt 7:13-23 Jesus tells us that the road to salvation is narrow and not everyone who says “Lord, Lord” will enter the kingdom of Heaven. Only those that have a personal relationship and do the will of God will see Heaven’s gates. Don’t just depend on your good works because on judgment day you don’t want Jesus to say He does not know you. Make the distinction between “religious” and “Christian” and look inside yourself to make sure you have Christ there and let Him lead your life.
Bro. Oren had a very full prayer list Sunday morning. Pray for Bill Whitaker as he has been ill and in the hospital. We know God is with him but we need to pray for him. Also, Mona Decker fell and fractured her wrist and hurt her knee so please remember her for healing. Others to keep in mind are Rosa Barcus, J.D. Morrison, Jacob Evans, Tammy Weyrauch and Wally Jessen. There are lots of others with concerns so please remember as many as you can.
Keep friend day in your prayers and if you have someone who you want to invite to church, Sunday Nov. 7th is the day to do it. We set that day aside to say welcome and God loves you, to all our friends. Please come and feel welcome in God’s house. Don’t forget to fall back one hour before you go to bed on Saturday Nov. 6th. You get an extra hour of sleep due to Standard time and we sure want to take advantage of that.
We have started choir practice for our Christmas musical. I know; who can believe it’s that time again! Please, be a part of this special ministry and bring your voice on Sunday evenings at 5 p.m. There is just one more practice for the Friend Day special but be there to take part in our Christmas special practice. We need everyone that is willing to join in.
Our nursing home service will be on Sunday Oct. 31 at 2p.m. so we hope you can make that and join in.
Our youth program is going really great and there are wonderful things taking place there. Young people, we invite you to come and check us out on Wednesday nights at 6:30 p.m. We gather at our youth ministry building across the street from the church.
Wednesday night Bible study is in the book of Ephesians. It begins at 7 p.m. each week so we welcome you.
Please check out our worship and Sunday school services. Bring the whole family as well. We have children’s church during adult Worship and Sunday school classes. Our nursery has grown into two rooms now to help us concentrate on infants and toddlers who have room to play and to give parents peace of mind on the care of their child. We are always looking for more volunteers for our nursery, so if God lays that on your heart, please talk to Dwain Moore or the Church office.
We look forward to meeting together Sunday morning and we want to share God’s Word with everyone. Please visit us and we will share His love and His message. Have a wonderful week and God Bless.
