The Ava VFW and Ladies Auxiliary will be hosting a ham and bean, cornbread and dessert dinner on Saturday, Oct. 23, to help the Will McFarlin family purchase a wheel chair accessible van.
The dinner will begin at 6 p.m. and will be held at the Ava VFW Post on West Washington Ave. next to the Ava Post Office.
This date was selected because it is also National Make a Difference Day.
Proceeds from the program will be used to help the McFarlin family purchase a van that will accommodate two wheel chairs. An account has also been opened at Century Bank of the Ozarks as the McFarlin MD Fund, and donations are welcome.
Following the dinner on Oct. 23, a program of live music will begin at 7 p.m., featuring Bob Hammons and Wildwood. An auction will be held during the music break, with lots of nice items to be auctioned including Branson tickets.
Tickets for the meal and program are $5 in advance or $6 at the door.
Everyone is asked to help support this deserving family and “make a difference.”
