Several prayer requests were shared as we came together on our Lord’s Day; among these were a friend of Trish Menzies, George, Ruth, our nation, leaders, military, and new ministers, Van, David and Corby. Judy Wilson prayed this prayer.
Happy birthday was sung to Bill Hodges and Lane McFarland.
Juanita Menzies shared about her week and the Good Lord’s blessings. Other testimonies were from Eldon Hodges and Kendra Harris. Rick Crum reported good fellowship at the revival in Taneyville last week.
Pastor Neal prayed and read from Isaiah 55, “O how we need a hunger and thirst for the Holy Spirit to do a work. We need to humble ourselves under a mighty God”. Luke 19, Jesus wept over the city because they didn’t know the time of their visitation. I Peter 4, we suffer for the will of God. So much is happening and He alone is our hope, peace and salvation.
Our 6 p.m. service was dismissed to go to New Vision Church with Brother Van Menzies, our new minister. Pastor Neal said 14 years ago, we did that for him as he preached his first sermon and he still remembers how it made him feel. Van also was surprised when several came to New Vision.
We had our monthly fellowship dinner for October’s birthdays and anniversaries. Good food and good Christian fellowship was enjoyed.
Backpack items were collected for the Plainview School’s program.
The 24th of October will be our annual hayride across the hills to Glade Top Trail. We will leave the church at 4 p.m., travel across the hills, have a cookout meal, then have our evening service and travel back to the church.
Items were received for Dr. Sam Evans and family, our medical missionary to the Philippians.
We have special prayer meeting each Tuesday at 7 p.m., Wednesday is Bible Study in Genesis at 7 p.m. and our services each Sunday at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Come and worship with us. You are welcome.
