First quarter is ending and the Ava R-1 School District is inviting parents and guardians to attend this year’s first district-wide Parent-Teacher conferences.
Classes will be dismissed at 12:40 p.m. next Thursday, October 21 to allow teachers time to meet with parents from 12:45 to 8 p.m.
Ava Elementary teachers have been scheduling time with parents individually and the Ava Middle School will have teachers available in their classrooms until 8 p.m.
Parents should check into each building at their specified main office to collect grade cards and MSIP surveys then meet with teachers.
During this time Mr. David Williams, Vice-Principal at Ava High School, and the AHS Attendance Committee will be hearing attendance appeals from high school students whose attendance has exceeded the approved limit of hours.
Any student fearful of grade and credit repercussions due to missing over the attendance limit should schedule a time with Mr. Williams to avoid semester grade penalties
