Kiwanis Club of Ava is set to embark on another year of service to the children of the Ava community. The club roster has been confirmed and, although all of the officers are returning to their current positions, they are doing so with renewed commitment to make this Kiwanis year, which runs from Oct. 1 to Sept. 30, the best year in the history of the club.
To that end, the club’s Officer Installation Dinner and Ceremony will be held tonight (Thursday, Oct. 14) at 6:30 p.m. at the Highway House Cafe. Lt. Governor Jim Brisco of Harrison, Ark., will be on hand to install the officers at a short business meeting that will take place at the end of the evening.
The highlight of the evening is sure to be the program that is lined up for members, families and guests to enjoy. The “Heritage Singers”, a local southern gospel group, will provide musical entertainment. There will also be a time of fellowship and dinner planned for those who attend. The business portion will be held at the end of the evening.
This year’s officers are as follows: Glenda Little, president;
Diane Taylor, vice president;
and Donna Dixon, secretary /treasurer.
