Jacquelyn Opal Parker Burroughs was born March 9, 1917, in Mansfield, and passed away on Sept. 21, 2010, in Breese, Ill., at the age of 93.
Opal was a homemaker and a ward clerk at a hospital in southern Missouri.
Graveside services were held on Thursday, Oct. 7, at Dyer Cemetery near Ava at 11 a.m.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roe and Ida Cameron Parker; her husband, Charles Burroughs; a son, James Burroughs; and a sister, Bessie Miller.
Opal is survived by a son, Charles and Nancy Burroughs, of Lebanon, Ill.; three grandchildren, Melissa (Michael) Catarnichi, Katy, Texas, Rachel (Greg) Foster, Northwest, Md., and Scott (Kimberly Burroughs, O’Fallon, Mo.; eight great-grandchildren, Alec, Cody, Blake, Ayla, Todd, Timothy, Kendric, and Elmer.
Arrangements were by Meyer Funeral Home, Lebanon, Ill., and Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava. The Rev. Oren Alcorn officiated at the graveside service here.
