Hettie Mary (Price) Cooper, 79

Hettie Mary (Price) Cooper, 79 years, passed away on Oct. 11, 2010 at Cox Medical Center South, Springfield, Mo.

Hettie was born May 30, 1931 in Wasola, Mo., to Jessie and Mattie (Martin) Price. She graduated from Gainesville High School.

Hettie was a lifelong resident of the Wasola community. She was proud to be a farmer and she also worked for several years at Rockbridge Trout Ranch. On Aug. 25, 1979, Hettie and Homer James Cooper were united in marriage in Wasola, Mo.  He preceded her in death.

She was a Christian and attended the churches in Romance and the Noble community. Hettie enjoyed caretaking all of her nieces and nephews over the years. She enjoyed hunting, quilting, flowers and gardening.

Hettie was preceded by her parents; her husband, Homer James Cooper; two brothers, Doy and Audie Price; and one nephew, Roger Burnett.

Hettie is survived by two sisters, Virginia Burnett, Pottersville, Mo., and Glenda Beach, Independence, Mo.; two brothers and their spouses, Lynn and Norma Price, Holden, Mo., and Lyle and Betty Price, Wasola, Mo.; sister-in-law, Emogene Price, Ava, Mo.; many nephews, nieces, great-nieces, great-nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Hettie will be Thursday, Oct. 14, at 2 p.m., at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Rev. Ronnie Pinckney officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Wasola. Visitation was Wednesday, Oct. 13, from 6 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
