Eastern Gate and Around the Mountain

It’s getting to be that time of year when all the holidays start. You know the time when you go into a store and you see all the holiday decorations from Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. It seems we don’t have any time between them, they all just roll along together. It’s that way at church also, during Sunday school, I was talking with Tina and Tammy about what we were going to do for our fall festival times,  which we always celebrate at the end of October and the ladies were also starting to discuss their Christmas program.  This is the time of year we get really busy, but we should never get too busy for church or God. If any of our youth are interested in being in the Christmas program they need to start coming to Sunday school and also make sure and let Tina and Tammy know that they want a part. We had several teens missing Sunday. We always miss you when you are not in church with us.
Jon Mitchell and his daughter, Grace, sang a special for us. The youth sang a song and Jon, Bud and Irene sang.
Jon Mitchell brought the message for us Sunday. He talked about if God is telling you to do something for Him don’t just sit there like you’re asleep. Get up and follow Jesus and do what He is asking of you. We had some of the teens and adults come to the altar for prayer.
We always seem to have a long list of prayer requests. Jerry Nelson asked a special request for Wyatt.
The primary class put a decoration in their class that said, “let everything that has breath praise the Lord.” That would include all of us, and if you look around there is always something to be thankful for.
Don’t forget our Friday night service where we are going to learn about love with our youth. It will start about 7:30. Tina needs a few adults and lots of youth.
Wanda Hutchinson said she took Fay down to the country gospel show this week. I’m sure they had a great time.
Roger and I fixed lunch for Shawn, Miranda, Braxton and Alexis Sunday and that afternoon our other three grandkids came down, Courtney, Logan and Rilee. It was sure fun to have a house full of grandkids laughing and playing.
We had a call from Donald Potter, he said he got back from his trip safe and sound and they had a good service. I’m not sure, but it sounded like him and Roger was doing a little plotting against me, for some reason they want to change me into someone who listens and obeys Roger. Now tell me what fun would that be. You know God wants us to be able to enjoy this wonderful life He gives us and He also wants us to live for Him and share His word. So until next time, smile, God loves you.
