October 6 – Caney came together Wednesday evening with singing. Bro. Jeff Shipley was our leader this week. He began by taking prayer requests. Bro. Jim Lafferty led in prayer. Bro. Jeff read I Kings 22:29-39. Just because it is right, we need to make sure it’s the will of God for us to do it. Sometimes God has a different plan. It is in His hands not ours.
Sunday school opened with singing. Bro. Jack Essary welcomed everyone. We were really glad for all the sick people who were back. Prayer requests were taken and we had many concerns in our church family. Bro. Ethel Coulter led in prayer. Jack read I Chronicles 22:7-13 for our devotion.
After a great Sunday school lesson, happy birthday was sung to Lila Roberts. God bless her. Sis. Tracy Shipley led the youth in song. Everyone enjoys this time. Testimony was given by Jeff Shipley and Lila Roberts.
Praise and Worship began with singing. Those singing special music were LeAnn Kinyon, Melissa Harmon, Jim Lafferty and Charlotte Roberts. Pastor Bill Austin spoke this morning from Luke 24:27-29 and Romans 13:11-12. Time is drawing short, are your eyes on Christ? Are you telling others they can live forever through Christ?
Sunday evening services started with singing. Bro. Jeff Shipley opened services by taking prayer requests. Sis. Charlotte Roberts led in prayer. Testimonies were given by Bill Austin, Jim Lafferty, Janice Lafferty, Charlotte Roberts and Lila Roberts. Charlotte Roberts sang a special. Bro. Jack Essary was the speaker Sunday evening. His scripture was Matthew 16:1-16. Who do we think Jesus is? Do we know He’s the Son of God? Life is eternal, now is the time to make our choice where we are going to live it. We had wonderful messages today. Come be with us at Caney. We are a Bible believing, God fearing, church trying to do God’s will. Everyone is welcome.
