St. Francis Church News

Sunday, September 26 was the Seventeenth Sunday after Trinity. Fr. Glen based his sermon on the Epistle for the day, Ephesians 4:1, in which St. Paul refers to himself as a “prisoner of the Lord and discusses the responsibilities of the Christian life, humility and avoidance of arrogance. God demands suppression of the human ego not to humiliate people, but to establish the proper relationship between God and man.
Father Glen also reported on the first convention of the Missionary District of the South and the Ozarks which he and his wife, Laurie attended on Saturday, Sept. 25 at St. Barnabas Church in Heber Springs, Arkansas: the food was excellent – always a major concern for Fr. G. and the meeting a success. Also commenting on the convention were the lay delegates from St. Francis: Anna Meador, Debbie Berthold and Jim Woods. In other announcements, a church work day has been set for October 17.
Everyone is welcome at St. Francis Anglican (Traditional Episcopal) Church where Fr. Glen Hartley leads services Sundays at 10:30 a.m. and Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. assisted by lay leader, Tom Berthold, acolytes, Chandler and Lincoln Connell and organist, Kip Smith.
