Food Harvest items were collected for the Heart of the Hills Food Harvest.
Prayer requests were for Coleen Shockley, HK and Suzanne Gaulding, our nation, leaders, military and our names in the book on the altar.
Happy Birthday was sung to Amy Hodges and Patty Siler. Testimonies were shared about our Good Lord and how he helps us.
Pastor Neal prayed and read from Mark 4, “let us have a greater desire for our Lord”.
Our Gideon speaker was Brother Hershel Letsinger. He shared how Gideons make a difference in lives. In 1908, the first Bibles were given. The day before 9-11, one billion Bibles were given. Two and one-half Bibles are given every second. For every two Bibles given out, three hands are reaching for them.
At 6 p.m., Pastor Neal prayed, followed by singing. We had a new singer in our group. Little Colton Harris joined us and stayed with us through four songs.
Let us remember to pray for Options Pregnancy Clinic and LeaAnn Crum as director. Let us also watch Israel as so many are against them including our own nation.
LeaAnn and Erin Crum sang for us and LeaAnn read from Psalms 119.
Brother Van Menzies was our speaker. He read from Matthew 13, the parable of the sower. We each have a responsibility to sow seed. Some will receive, some will not. It will bear fruit, some more and some less. He asked, “What are we missing because of our unbelief?” We closed with prayer time at the altar.
A list was given out for items for Christmas to be sent to our missionary, Dr. Sam Evans, and his family.
Next Sunday, October 10, will be our monthly fellowship dinner after church..
There will be a tent revival this week at Taneyville with a different speaker each evening.
The men, hanging sheetrock, finished up this week in the basement. Plans are now to do the new fence on the east side adding the new land to our parking lot.
