Sandy Church

Several prayer requests were given as we began with prayer.  Among the requests were Coleen, Cathy, Joe, Nancy, Andrew, Ed and, as always, the names in the book on the altar, our nation, leaders and military.  Doyle Humbyrd prayed the opening prayer.
Happy birthday was sung to Dane Humbyrd, our special boy, who is going to be 18 years old.
Aaron Dalton prayed the offertory prayer as we gave the Good Lord our tithes and offerings. As we came together after Sunday school, Pastor Neal prayed and LeaAnn sang. Pastor Neal gave us an assignment to read John 7 and Leviticus 23.  He read II Corinthians 4:17-18.  “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.  While we look not at things which are seen; but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.”  What are we working for?  After prayer time at the altar, Dawnya McFarland dismissed us in prayer,
At 6 p.m., Pastor Neal prayed, followed by singing then testimonies were shared.  Erin and Leann Crum sang.  LeaAnn read from John 19.
Van Menzies was our speaker.  He read from Matthew 14.  He told us “we need to be serious about our Lord’s business.  Jesus is waiting on us”.  Again, we closed with prayer time at the altar.
Next Sunday, the 1st Sunday, is always food harvest collection for the Heart of the Hills Food Harvest.
A youth retreat at Camp Piland is coming up shortly.
Some of the men met to hang sheet rock in the basement on Saturday.  They will finish next Saturday.  I know they will be glad to have this project done.
We have special prayer each Tuesday at 7 p.m. and Bible Study each Wednesday at 7 p.m. from Genesis.  Sunday services are at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.  Come and be with us.  You are always welcome.
