The Ava Community Playground Project was selected as a finalist of the Pepsi Refresh Grant, with the opportunity to win a $250,000 grant.
The grant winner is chosen based on the number of votes each project receives.
Citizens can vote by texting “103398” to the number 73774.
Or they may visit www.refresheverything.com/avacommunityplaygroundproject and register to vote.
Each cell phone number and e-mail address may vote one time per day.
The voting ends Oct. 31.
Organizers say that the playground project went from the 250th place to the 140th place in a matter of 24 hours.
