I hope your week was as wonderful as mine was. God truly gives us a wonderful place to live here. Do you take the time to see the beauty in the world around us? If not you need to stop and take time to enjoy, even if only for a day or a few moments at a time.
Roger and I went down into Arkansas with Howard and Phyllis Adams this past week. It was a few days of sight seeing and just relaxing. We stopped in Hot Springs and dipped our fingers in water that was 143 degrees that was running off the mountain and the steam was coming off this water. This was God’s way of providing a warm bath. Man has tried to catch most of this water, but where they let it run off the hill like God intended, it was really beautiful. We even went and tried to dig for diamonds in the diamond field. Our preacher told me I already had my diamond. God had given me Roger. Well, I have to admit he is pretty special to me, but I don’t think anybody would buy him per karat weight. We went on to visit with our other brother, Stan and Dottie and they took us to the Blanchard Cave and Spring. It was another beautiful place God has given for us to enjoy. The drive was scenic with lots of trees and deer, which we also have right here in our beautiful Ozarks, but sometimes we take it for granted, I am thankful for a safe trip.
Now on to church news, Esther Johnson played the piano for us Sunday. She is really doing very well on her piano playing. Jenny Brazeal led the youth in special singing. Our crowd was down a little, I don’t know if they were out sick or just in shock from such a drastic change in our temperature. Sunday night, Jonathon Hampton helped Jon Mitchell lead the songs, and our teenagers were all up front helping sing. Donald gave a good sermon on heaven. Have you heard the song, “Jesus Will Be What Makes It Heaven For Me?” Donald said that’s who he wants to see first and if you’re a Christian, then that should be your statement of faith also. After the service, we had an altar prayer for a wonderful lady of our church who is having surgery this week, Alice Nelson. There was also prayer request for Rilee, Stan, Larry’s brother, and others, please remember these when you pray.
Tammy Gunter was at a conference at Tan-Tar-A this weekend. I hope it went well. I also heard that our little Clayton (baby Jack) had to have his first shots. I’m sure that was harder on mom than on him, but we have to keep him safe so keep up the good work, mom. The school where some of our church kids attend is having a carnival this weekend so we cancelled our church singing to go down and support our kids. God loves our children and we need to always show love and support to our youth.
Until next time, take a few moments to look around at this wonderful place God gave you to live in and say thank you for the blessings he gives you. Take care.
