A 45-year-old Dora man, Chester E. Smith, was seriously injured Tuesday night when he crashed the Honda ATV he was riding on a county road some 25 miles east of Ava in the Blanche community.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Smith was eastbound on CR 350 at CR 349 when he ran off the west side of CR 349 and struck an embankment. The operator was totally ejected.
The wreck occurred at 7:15 p.m. and Smith was airlifted to Cox South Hospital in Springfield.
Two Cabool residents suffered minor injuries Monday when the vehicle in which they were riding ran off the road and overturned, coming to rest on its top.
The Highway Patrol said Christina G. Fettig, 24, of Cabool, was driving a 2002 Toyota Highlander north on Douglas County Route E, .2 mile north of CR 281. The vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway, returned to the roadway and ran off the left side of the road, overturning and coming to rest on its top.
The driver was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Mtn. View by ambulance. A passenger, Katlin M. Brixey, 4, of Cabool, suffered minor injuries but was not taken to the hospital.
