Children’s Home Auction Saturday At Norwood Gym

No one will want to miss the spectacular bigger and better than ever 7th annual Benefit Dinner and Auction on this coming Saturday, Oct. 2, at the Norwood School gym. Doors open at 4 p.m. for the sale table and silent auction table prior to the main auction which begins at 6 p.m.

Dinner will be at 5 p.m. sponsored by Burger Barn and Bakery in Mansfield. Sandy and Bill Rogers are cooking pulled pork, coleslaw, baked beans, rolls and dessert for all to enjoy. Sodas and coffee are also available for a small fee. Dinner costs $7 for adults and $3.50 for children under 7 years old.

Bring all your friends, relatives and neighbors.

Shawn Chadwell will be the auctioneer for the evening and will bring his professional talent and skill to the event that the Children’s Home has been working hard on for months to be the best auction yet. The array of items to be auctioned is vast, valuable and unusual.

Some of the new donations that have come in include: a brand new large Stetson cowboy hat with a cross on the band, two Norwegian Elkhound puppies, a brand new very large remote control Evader car for an adult, chrysanthemums, new Branson Princess Diana Exhibit tickets with dinner at Joe’s Crab Shack, a hand painted glass window by Karma Murr, newly crocheted baby blankets, Oriental fan/German souvenir spoon collection from Nanette Taylor, glass fireplace door/stainless steel sinks/new small table saw from Chuck Brazeal as well as hand painted Christmas ornaments and much more!

Adding the new contributions to the already accepted donations and possibly more (come and see!) include combined packages such as the round trip Allegiant Airline tickets from Springfield to Los Angeles/Las Vegas/Phoenix/Tampa Bay/Orlando, the new Shanghai Circus Branson show with the Texas Land and Cattle Steak House restaurant, the Weaver Inn Bed and Breakfast in Mansfield with Tropic Cuts Hair Salon, the Passion Play with Autumn Breeze restaurant in Eureka Springs, Juanita K. Hammonds Hall tickets with Gallery Bistro restaurant, Springfield Little Theatre tickets with Olive Garden restaurant, Lambert’s Café with “Throwed Rolls”, Ozark YMCA family membership, Club 60 restaurant, J and S  Golf rounds with cart at Ava Country Club, Mountain Grove Randall Hinkle Municipal golf rounds with cart, Angel Alessi’s Scentsy Wickless candles with Kirby’s Hartville Flowers, Happy Fingers Quilter’s Chocolate Basket, and even gourmet dog food and horse treats. This auction will be memorable.

Auction attendees will be amazed to see the interesting antique furniture being offered as well as all the over 30 theme gift baskets that are in the auction, and on the sale table and also in the silent auction. There is an attractively packaged basket sure to please for any occasion.

Due to the great outpouring of donations from all the surrounding communities (Hartville alone has contributed over 100 items) there will be a great amount of valuable selections both on the sale table and in the silent auction. Folks are encouraged to participate in the silent auction and come prepared to write their names down on the papers next to their choices and write it down again after other bidders have written theirs down. Each time your name is written, your bid is higher until you win, which will be just before the main auction begins.

Don’t forget to buy drawing tickets for the unusual and lovely cherry red and white handmade Sun Bonnet Sue queen size quilt. Each ticket is $1 or 6 tickets for $5. You do not need to be present to win this special quilt made with love by Connie Jo Spencer of Ava. For more information call 417-746-1420.
