September 29 – Caney came together Wednesday evening by singing. Bro. Jeff Shipley took charge of the service. Sis. Lila Roberts led in prayer. Jeff read I Kings 22:1-28. We should listen to the wisdom of others that are grounded in the word of God. The world will tell you whatever you want to hear even if it destroys you and others will be hurt too. As always we had a good discussion. Come be with us. You will enjoy it and be very welcome.
Sunday school came together with singing. Bro. Jack Essary welcomed everyone. Prayer requests were taken and Bro. Hi Lambeth led in prayer. Jack read Genesis 1:26-31 for devotion. Testimonies were given by Jeff Shipley and Janice Lafferty.
Praise and Worship began with singing. Those singing special music were Melissa Harmon, Jim Lafferty and Charlotte Roberts. Pastor Bill Austin spoke this morning from Matthew 11:1-3, 3:1-17. Are we really looking for Christ? Are we telling others that judgment is coming? If we don’t believe in Christ, it will be terrible. It will be an unquenchable fire, turn to Christ. He promises us a beautiful place. This was a very serious thought.
Sunday evening service began with singing. Bro. Jeff Shipley opened service by taking prayer requests. Testimony was given by Jack Essary, Melba Austin and Janice Lafferty. Bro. Jim Lafferty was the speaker Sunday evening. He brought the message from Malachi 2:17, 3:14 and Matthew 7:21-23. Just because you do good, talk good, are good means nothing if you aren’t born again. The world does not decide where you go, Jesus will say He never knew you. Only through Christ can you make Heaven. It was a wonderful thought.
