The Lions had four guests representing H&R Block at their Monday evening meeting. They were: Christine McGinnis, Dennis Uhles, Dana Lafferty, and Christina Nothnagel. Christine McGinnis is the owner, and Dennis Uhles is the office manager.
Christine McGinnis has been with H&R Block for 15 years. She informed the Lions that the office will be open to anyone who has any questions concerning taxes. She gave out literature to the Lions explaining the new health reform laws.
The H&R Block office is located across from Wal-Mart in Ava and had their ribbon cutting on Sept. 27. They also have an office in Mansfield.
The Lions are looking forward to Halloween and the costume contest they hold each year. This year Halloween falls on a Sunday, Oct. 31, but the Lions are holding the contest on the evening of Saturday, Oct. 30. Start planning your costumes now. The Lions are sure many mothers and grandmothers will be getting out the sewing machine.
