Around Bradleyville

Brrrrrrr. Only six months until spring. I’m enjoying the cooler weather, but I am a person that enjoys the warm weather better. I am happy for those that have to work outside; it is a lot more comfortable for them.

It has been better for me too. The roof had almost fallen off one side of my wishing well, and I was waiting for cooler weather to fix it so the wasps and assorted bugs wouldn’t be so thick. I may get it fixed now before spring. It may have to get a little bit colder for me to brave it though.

Alicia and I went to Kami Dotts baby shower at the home of Kami’s mom, Teresa Rayburn. Kami got lots of useful and cute items for Clint Christopher Dotts, who will probably be here by this time. Kami and Eric are neighbors of ours now; they moved into the house a mile down the road from us. They have been busy working on getting it all put together like they want it before baby Clint gets here.

Congratulations to Lone Star Church and David and Teresa Koenig that just celebrated their first year there. I heard they had a really good service and lots of good food afterwards.

I rode to Conway last week with Jason and Alicia to watch the volleyball game. We went up through Hartville and on to Lebanon first to get Hayden a mandolin at a music store there. He had been playing David’s mandolin but David decided to take it home with him when he went. They had committed to play a few songs here and there, and love to play for themselves and the family so they needed another mandolin in the worst way.

The drive up that way was beautiful. We went back down I-44 to Conway and watched the volleyball game. The girls didn’t win, but they played hard and I hope they had a good time.

The Jr. High boys’ basketball team will be playing in the Taneyville tournament this week. They had a game Monday night at 6:00 with Lutie, and I’m not sure what other nights they play the rest of the week. Jr. High boys and girls will play at Chadwick on Tuesday, Oct. 5 and at home with Lutie on Thursday, Oct. 7.

The volleyball girls will be playing Christian Schools of Springfield at home on Thursday, Sept. 30, Exeter at home Monday, Oct. 4, and at Ava Victory Academy on Thursday, Oct. 7.
