Middle School VolleyBears Split Games With Willow

The Ava Lady Bears middle school volleyball squad traveled to Willow Springs last week and the seventh grade brought home a win, while the eighth grade was defeated.

The seventh grade Bears beat the Willow Springs Bears in a three game match.

In game one Ava was slow getting started and lost 12-25, but the squad rallied back in game two to win the game 25-16, and then battled in game three to win the match 27-25.

Several players stood out in game one. Caley Wallace was 8/8 passing, 5/5 setting and 2/2 hitting; Bailey Loge was 5/5 setting; Haley Barker was 5/5 passing; Keeley Deal was 2/2 serving and 2/2 passing and libero Allison Welch was 2/2 passing.

In game two Hunter Shelton was 6/6 serving; Caley Wallace was 3/3 serving, 8/9 passing and had one hit; Bailey Loge was 9/11 passing and had one hit and Keeley Deal was 3/3 serving.

In game three Cheyenne Plaster was 3/3 serving; Caley Wallace was 4/5 serving, and 8/8 passing; Haley Barker served two ace serves and passed 3/4; Hope Evans was 2/2 serving and 3/5 passing; Hunter Shelton was 5/5 passing; Bailey Loge was 3/4 serving and 4/4 setting and Katelyn Walker was 2/2 serving.

The team played a 10 minute extra game. Willow Springs was leading 19-15 after 10 minutes

Katelyn Walker was 3/4 serving; Kendra Walker was 2/2 serving and 3/4 passing and Cheyenne Plaster was 2/2 passing in the short game.

The eighth grade girls fell to the Willow Springs Bears in a three game match.

In game one Ava fell 22-25, in game two Ava came back strong and beat Willow Springs 25-15, and then fell in game three after a tough battle by a score of 23-25.

In game one Alena Stokes and Lakota Blakey were each 5/5 serving, Stokes was also 8/10 passing; Maranda Yost was 3/3 serving and 2/2 passing and Shelagh Orcutt was 1/1 serving and 3/3 passing.

In game two Lakota Blakey was 7/7 serving; Alena Stokes was 5/5 serving and 6/7 passing; Callie Eubanks was 2/2 serving, 6/8 passing and 5/5 setting and had one kill.

In game three Calli Eubanks was 5/5 serving, 6/6 passing,3/3 setting and had 3 hits; Destiny Sparnight was 6/6 setting and 7/7 passing; Brandee Cutbirth was 6/6 passing and 3/3 serving; Lakota Blakey was 4/4 serving and 2/2 passing and had one kill; Alena Stokes was 7/8 passing and 3/3 hitting.

The girls also played an extra 10 minute game with the eighth grade. Ava was leading 16-15 after 10 minutes.

Jenna Davis was 2/2 serving and had two tips; Camie Goosen was 2/2 serving and 3/4 passing; Josie Kjar was 3/4 passing and 1/1 serving; Emily Patton was 4/4 passing; Dusty Graham, Jessie Davis and Dylan Wilson were all 2/2 passing.
