Ava’s freshman and junior varsity football teams combined to host Reeds Spring on Sept. 20.
Ava’s freshman squad played the first half of the contest and the junior varsity squad played the second half.
Ben Loge started the scoring with a one yard run up the middle.
The Bears failed the two-point conversion and led 6-0.
Reed Spring responded. They drove and scored and had a successful two-point conversion to go up 8-6.
Ava took over in the second half.
Kyle Clinkingbeard had a 35-yard run in the third to make the score 12-8 in Ava’s favor.
Dexter Fish connected to Caleb Miles for a 15-yard touchdown, and Miles ran for the two point conversion.
Miles also added a 37-yard touchdown run.
Austin Gastineau got into action for the Bears with a 15-yard touchdown run. Miles added the two-point conversion.
The final score was 34-8 in Ava’s favor.
