Gentry Church

Congregational singing and prayer opened the service. Bob Huskey gave a testimony about his test results coming back good. He will have another test later this month, so keep him in and your prayers and also Ella Mae.
Sunday school lesson was God’s Hatred of Idolatry. We must always put God first in our lives.
Morning service began with prayer and congregational singing. The Welker Family did a special. They had 17 members of the family in the group. We had another special by Narvil, Wanda, Faye and Wendall. JoAnn accompanied on piano.
Happy birthday to Pauline Welker and happy anniversary to Doug and Sheila Miller.
Bro. Riley Hall brought forth the message, Seeking Right Ways, text from Ezra 8:21. God takes care of His people. We need God in our lives to reach and witness to souls of God’s salvation. All the stress and turmoil in America today is because America has turned away from God. We must seek God and search our hearts and lives; we must teach our children about Jesus to walk by faith.
Gentry Singers sang at the nursing home.
During the evening service we had congregational singing and prayer. JoAnn, Rod and Bobbie all sang. Riley Hall attended his 50th High School Reunion.
Riley Hall brought the message. His text was from Matthew 23:31-38. Jesus came but was rejected and still today people are rejecting Him. In John 14:6, Jesus states; “I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father but by me.” Other scriptures with this message were Matthew 21:29, Matthew 21:12-13, Luke 19:42, I Sam. 4:21, Ezekiel 10:4 and 19, Isaiah 66:1 and Ezekiel 8:6. God lead them by a cloud, by day and fire at night. Ezekiel 11:23, The Lord will not stand for sin.
Matthew 23 says Jesus issues seven woes to the scribes and Pharisees.
We must remember that we were on Jesus’ mind, when He was on the cross.
