Hello everyone, I hope your week was wonderful and God sent blessings your way. Donald said he gets up every morning and says a prayer to let him be a blessing to someone during that day. If every day we could share one blessing with a person along this life we all share, what a wonderful world this would be. Donald’s sermon Sunday morning was about hell. It’s not very often we hear sermons like that anymore, but hell is a very real place and one that we need to make sure to avoid. All we have to do to avoid it is to ask Jesus into our hearts and to forgive us of our sins. Jesus loves us and is waiting for us to just ask. It is so simple, yet we try to make it seem so complicated.
Sunday night was our youth night. We had several youth come out to church, but we were also missing several. Jenny Brazeal led some of our songs. Sarah Hampton asked for special songs and led the youth group in a song. We also had the older choir sing a song. We had a few testimonies and then we ate supper together. Donald had put in a request for fried chicken and I saw that someone did answer the request. Wednesday night they served birthday cake and ice cream to Irene Swearengin and Jackie Nelson.
Friday night we took our youth to the YMCA. We had a good turn out of kids and adults. We started out playing games and eating pizza. After that we moved into the pool and swam for about an hour. I think you could hear these kids laughing and playing for several square miles, but that’s okay they were having a lot of fun and the lifeguard said that they were a great group of kids and very well behaved. This of course made me very proud of all my church kids.
Sunday night Roger and Irene kept Kerry and Dana Lafferty’s kid, Cheyenne and Jaki for two days while they took Dana’s dad to the doctor Monday night. There were five girls down at their house, Courtnie and Rilee Swearengin, Esther Johnson, Cheyenne and Jaki, I do believe Roger was outnumbered by the women that night. Donald keeps preaching to Irene about saying “Yes Sir” to Roger or something along that line, maybe some day she’ll figure it out.
Before I get in trouble here I better say, so long, have a great week and remember be a blessing to someone you meet along the way. Share a smile and a friendly hello. God loves you, take care.
