The Douglas County Historical society held its monthly meeting on Sept. 20. President Pat Carmichael called the meeting to order. Sharon read the treasurer’s report and the minutes of the August meeting which were approved.
Pat gave a report on how many visitors the museum is having on Tuesday and Thursday and it was decided it is time to go back to winter hours, which means the museum will only be open on Saturday 10 till 2 until next spring.
Sharon gave an update on the Journal and there is room for a few more stories; the deadline for this Journal is Oct. 15, so please hurry if you want your story in this Journal.
There was discussion on the improvements on the museum and work to be done on the building and the yard before winter. It was agreed to put guttering on the front and to paint the front porch again.
After a discussion on having some entertainment, speakers and other new business, the meeting adjourned.
