Our club is so busy we hardly know where to start! Donna, Glenda and Greg were all out of town for other responsibilities last week and could not attend the meeting, but others were there to carry on with the business.
Denise is still watering flowers for now, although that will be over before long. Diane is making funnel cakes for home football games to benefit Project Gradation.
We are selling concessions on Saturdays for the soccer games too. Dolores and Connie worked that booth last week. Unfortunately, some of our concessions were stolen at some point, which is too bad but we shall carry on.
Add to that, other members are busy getting things done for Kiwanis Kids Day which is scheduled for this Saturday, Sept. 25 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Ava City Park. Smokey the Bear has been confirmed, we have rock painting, clowns and reading activities, Emergency Management, University Extension that are participating as well.
We will have drawings for prizes, hotdogs, chips and drinks will be served at noon.
Kids must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Contact Glenda Little at (417) 844-0408 or Donna Dixon at (417) 683-1918 for more information.
After Kids Day is over, we will need to begin looking at some fundraiser options as Christmas will be upon us before we know it. We will be scheduling Terrific Kids Assemblies very soon as well. There is always something to be done as we work to serve the children of the Ava community!
If you are interested in volunteering for a project or would like more information about our club or activities, call Glenda Little at 683-6167 or Donna Dixon at 683-1918.
