In association with the 60th anniversary of the Ava Drug Co., the Ava Art Club sponsored a drawing to raise funds for sending students from Ava Middle School and Skyline School to the Springfield Art Museum.
The two prizes consisted of an art piece, “The Seven Days of Creation,” by local artist Juanita Herrell, and a ceramic platter created also by a local artist, Louise Walker.
Both of the artists are members of the Ava Art Club.
The winners were drawn at the Ava Drug Store. The winning ticket for “Seven Days of Creation” was won by Jo Ann Lawrence and the ceramic platter was won by Evelyn Pruitt.
The winners were announced by Art Club President Marge Norman. The Ava Art Club is associated with the Southwest Missouri Museum Associates.
