On this 16th Sunday after Pentecost we started our service with the Bible readings they are as follows: Exodus 32:7-14, Psalm 51: 1-10 and the New Testament I Timothy 1: 12-17. Our lector was Jerry Johnson.
Pastor Wayne Strohschein’s sermon was on the Gospel Luke 15:1 – 10. With whom or what do you identify? At times we do feel lost like the sheep getting lost in the scripture of Luke.
In this season of Pentecost, God has come near to us and we have to make choices. And we must listen
to God when he speaks to us.
We will have a parish meeting after church service next Sunday to vote for the second time upon leaving the ELCA, and at that time we will declare what Lutheran body we will go with. Also there will be a council meeting. There will be a potluck luncheon as well after the service.
The Ministerial Alliance was to meet Monday Sept. 13.
Monday at 5 p.m. at the church the Sunshine Singers will meet.
Naomi’s Circle will meet for a work day on Wednesday, 9:30 a.m.
Wednesday at 1 p.m. Worship & Music Committee meeting.
The annual garage sale was a big success The money from the sale will be given to Neighbor Helping Neighbor. Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will give us a percentage of the money taken in on the garage sale.
