Sunday, September 12 was the fifteenth Sunday after Trinity. Fr. Glen based his sermon on the Old Testament lesson for the day, Deuteronomy 7:6-13 “For you are a people holy to the Lord…” which discusses Israel’s relationship to God as chosen people and the responsibilities and blessings that come with this role, which is important to Christians as the heirs of the covenant.
This was an important day for our congregation as the service was followed by a potluck dinner and then the annual all-parish meeting open to all church members at which vestry members were chosen for the coming year and delegates to the District Convention to be held Saturday, Sept. 25 at St. Barnabas Church in Heber Springs, Arkansas. The delegates chosen were Anna Meador, Debbie Berthold, and Jim Woods. The vestry members are: for a one year term Debbie Berthold, Jordan Willard and Tom Berthold; for a two-year term Stephanie Connell, Anne Sasko and Penelope Williard; for a three-year term Gary Kester, Anna Meador and Chandler Connell.
Also at the vestry meeting a financial report was given by treasurer, Debbie Berthold, and a Work Day was set for Oct. 17.
