The Ava Lady Bears softball team defeated Fordland 13-3 in five innings here Monday afternoon.
Ava scored runs in every inning but one, and improved their record to 7-2.
Junior Jessie Eubanks, who has worked her way into the lineup in right field, was 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored.
Also credited with an RBI each were Sierra Sharp, Payton Lakey, Hannah Johnson, Kayla Dougherty and Kayley Watson. Numerous Ava batters reached base on walks.
Abbie Lansdown scored three times for the Lady Bears, Melissa Coonts, Morgan Emerich and Eubanks scored twice, and Sharp, Lakey, Watson and Danielle Dye scored single runs.
The Ava girls will travel to Thayer today and will play in the Branson Tournament on Saturday. Next Monday the girls will play at Mtn. Grove and on Tuesday, Lebanon will be here.
